Currently the Vanwall and LMP2 are running very similar laptimes. One is 20km/h faster on straights and one is 20km/h faster in corners. With the Vanwall's tyre degradation I think we will see an overall win for LMP2 and, more importantly, a horrible dynamic between these two classes on track. Are there any further updates planned for the LMP2?

Edit: actually, with the LMP2 being faster in every corner, having better brakes and better tyres over a stint there will be lots of changes needed to the LMP2 to properly balance the Hypercar and LMP2. On brakes and in corners the Vanwall's performance is currently between the LMP2 and GT3, so the easy fix to make these classes compatible would be to run vanilla LMP2 (making it run +/ 325 on Mulsanne and having top drivers lapping 3:25) and reduce the Vanwall's power output so it will only top out at around 310-315, making its racepace on worn tyres 3:40 or slightly faster. This could still make it hugely difficult for a slow LMP2 driver to lap a fast Vanwall driver, but at least you won't get one class passing the other on the straight and then holding them up in the corners and running similar laptimes to begin with.

I think this could be a good solution Bert! I think that just the point with the dynamics on the track with the two cars with the current situation is rather semi-optimal.

or telling the Studio to give the Vanvall back the rear downforce lmao

Hi, for me it's impossible to enter the server. I have a permanent pending update with the workshop content and no way to make it work.
    An error occurred
    Failed to download/install packages.
Please try returning main menu, or restarting the game.
I've got all the cars, it's just the track the problem (i've already uninstall/reinstall the game, suscribe/unsuscribe many times) but nothing work.
    Any ideas?
(i'm not an usual RF2 player)

You know, that the LMh is the Top-class right? If you want to make changes, you have to slow down the LMP2-car. It also works in the LFM, where is the problem?
The vanilla Oreca is way to fast to the oreca, that is currenty run in the WEC. The studio failed to give us the right BoP, so every League has to do it by it´s one. It´s a pain in the ass, but it´s like it is.

Of course I know that, but I just want a balanced race. I don't drive LFM, so I have no idea what happens there. If they have a proper BoP which we could use, so we can run the classes in the intended order, then I'm all for that. All I'm saying is if things stay the way they are here, we will be having a bad time and the easiest fix is to reduce the Vanwall power because the LMP2 will require a lot more changes to make it work properly. I'd rather have that than some botched solution that will still have fighting between LMH and LMP2.

Let´s just trust in the organisation. Probably they will come with a good solution. I, for my part, would not drive the LMh anymore, if it´s not the top-class. We race in a simulation, so the priority has to simulate the reality. In realitiy the Hyper is 3-4 secs faster than the Oreca, so the situation is quite clear. I don´t want to race fantasy-cars anymore. The last two years in the VEC was enough of driving fantasy-cars. There they boped the DPi on a nearly F1-level to stay with a nearly vanilla LMP2. Fastest lap in the Le Mans race was a 3.11,2. That was like to fly a rocket-ship around the track and the best part is, that the DPi was even faster before the race. We did laptimes like the F1 in Bahrain.

Perhaps the Vanwall is not with the most power in the mod we currently run on the server ?
There has been 3'22" in qualy on LFM and 3'24" in race, wich was what the vanilla LMP2 was able to do.

yes and a reality is that you have setups options in sims which you dont have in reality. without attacking anyone but i belive some Vanvalls will do 3:35s because they cant setup the car properly because its a shitbox. i was driving behind Ben through the porsche corners and literally the only thing which prevents us to pass the Vanvall is Dirty Air and this will not change :D If its true that the Vanvall was made from the team itself and port in to rF2 god bless you because i would not even turn on the engine because i get scared to turn in to the porsche corners. They changed the cars aero "to match reallife lmao".

Just kill either the vanvall or the oreca because it will not work out without boping the oreca so hard that we do 3:40s in race lol

no that was before the real life data update i believe

It´s not a shitbox, it´s just realistic fast. The Oreca is way to fast compared to real life. Look at the laptimes in the WEC. The Vanwall matches the real-life laptimes quite good. We are just used to much to fast cars. They did 3.30 in the first training. So the Pace of the Vanwall in rF2 is good. The Oreca in real life is at 3.33. So in rF2 the Vanwall can do like 3.27 with a okay set. So the target time for the Oreca should be around 3.30-3.31. So the car should be slower by 3 secs. I think, that this is possible without making a shitbox out of it.
The studio is so stupid not just to give us a 2023 BoP option for the Oreca. They could do this with like 1-3 days of work.

Don't forget the Vanwall's tyre degradation is much higher and we have like a 5s skill gap between drivers in the same class. A gap of 5s in optimal conditions between these classes is too little, imo. We need at least 10, preferably more.

then i have the biggest skill issue ever because imo its not possible to make the car driveable for more as one lap through high downforce corners even with full wing and max understeer without getting ptsd when going to bed.

And yeah on the paper the car doesnt make any shenanigans thats fine obv, but the fact that they take away rear downforce and add front downforce is just a massiv L because this makes the car to a shitbox. Its just 0% Fun to drive

I don´t know, i did not a lot of laps with the latest update, but i did 2x 24h races with this car and had not one spin or crash. I like it to drive, because you can not push like hell every lap and it´s not a rocket ship like the VEC-DPi.
To Bert: 10 secs are to much, thats not the reality. If someone is not able to drive the car in a proper way, then he should not try to do a 24h race with that car. 5 secs laptime-difference is far to much. But thats just my opinion.
