The Ferrari is slower then it was before, bop reduced its pace from road Atlanta.

All laps pre bop were full fuel, bloody Shane has to go out and put in some fliers. Lol and Shane is a bloody good driver.

Single lap pace should not be the only consideration.

This car has terrible drop off (as seen at road Atlanta) you get about 2 laps where it is capable of a mid 3, but after that it quickly drops off the pace by a second, and then by the end of the stint it is easily 2-3 seconds a lap slower.

Also cars should not be punished due to individual performances.

Agreed with Shawn, i like doing hotlaps to see how much i can get out of a car and setup. Full race fuel and same exact conditions i don't think the ferrari is going to destroy the other cars.

The Drop off is at all Cars. Every Car lost Time after many Laps. this is nothing extraordinary. 4 seconds in the rain is a massive advantage. But I'm waiting for more results. First time.

Is the 4 seconds based on one driver or multiple drivers in the ferrari?

I don't want to give Shane any more props (I'll never here the end of it lol) but he is a very experienced GT driver.

Also rain is very subjective, especially when not many cars are on track, if the lap was early on when it had just started raining then I'm not surprised it was fast, if it was just a one off then that's expected, however if it was a sustained 4 second advantage lap after lap over ever other car then yes something isn't right.

I'm going to jump on a try the Camaro now and see what I can managed on race pace, although this isn't really the most accurate since personally I know the ferrari very well, I'm not as experienced with the other cars, so I don't expect to be able to match ferrari pace. Just as I wouldn't expect the quicker guys in one of the other cars to jump in and straight away run 2:03s in the ferrari.

    1. To the Bop. We will wait for the first test race (Will do the thread and dates later today). If the ferrari is still to quick there we might do a small update to it (e.g. more draft, less power, ...). But first i will wait for the race result. In my Spa tests (started testing there before track vote was over) i did the same time in Z4, ferrari and camaro. The Camaro was a bit slower on one single lap but a bit stronger at the end of a stint.

I can understand your feeling. If i only try to read the english translation with know the german text its also for me diffcult to understand. But there are no new regulations for Road America. Only a collection of thoughts, ideas and suggestions. But here is nothing decided yet and we are open for further suggestions.

    Well that was surprising.

As Joern mentioned track grip has gone at the moment probably due to rain, and it just started raining again so cya any grip that we were building up.

So times comparison - disclaimer I suck when there's not much rubber down.

    all on 100l

    Camaro - 2:05.4
    Bmw - 2:05.2
    Ferrari - 2:05.2

so pretty damn even and I was not sandbagging at all (just goes to show how much time can be found with a rubbered in track)

With the low grip, front left tyre wear sucked on all of them, the Camaro was possibly slightly better, but over all it's bad for all 3, so we'll all be in the same boat there.

here's the lovely lack of grip real road
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/or6jfmmkojcjr2x/RA server low grip.rrbin?dl=0

I'll put the challenge out there to see how others can do on this shite grip :D with the 3 cars above.

So there's my "100% Scientific" BOP test ;)

Your scientific test is open to manipulation by anyone doing it, by sandbagging as you put it.

I will wait for the test race as Simon suggested.

I have no complaints about the Camaro.

:D scientific part was a joke lol

This is true, I know in myself I gave it 100% in all 3 cars, but I have no proof of that so it is what it is.

Please do put in some laps in all 3 cars with that grip (or any other grip provided it's remaining close to the same for all cars) and provide your results. The more feedback like this the better it is for all.

Comparing different drivers to base car speed on isn't always the best way, an example of this is while I was testing the Camaro, there was a BMW and a Ferrari on at the same time, both a second slower. Now I'm not an uber alien or anything but you can see it's not always the car. So technically they could complain the Camaro is too fast. Which is not, but do you see what I'm getting at?

Test race will always be helpful and I hope people give it there all, but again there could be sandbagging or even people may not have unlocked the full potential of the car/track yet.

It's a tough job trying to get everyone on a level playing field, but you also shouldn't disadvantage those doing a good job.

God it must suck to be IMSA/WEC!!! :D:D:D

I didn't imply you had manipulated the data, I said anyone doing your test could, by sandbagging, achieve any result they want.
