For 5 driver teams the 15% rule could be quite a stretch to fullfill. You don't have a lot of time of the race left to juggle around between the drivers then.

In my view the 70% rule, which was introduced this year, especially fits the 24 hour races a lot better respectively gives the teams more freedom. I find the new rule way more sensible.

But knowing rf2, there is probably going to be a server restart necessary anyway, with P1 race control most likely making the rule obsolete afterwards.

Just an Idea to avoid red flags or server restarts. In the SRC 24h Spa race, everyone was on the server as a spectator during the whole race. So you got only very few joinings on the server, just when someones game crashes or something like that. And it worked very well, no performance issuses, no restart. Maybe a way to go for P1 endurances races.

 

How many drivers participate? I thought rf2 had a maximum of 104 i think. In that case it wouldn´t work for Nords24

 

Right now we have the Maximum of possible Teams available. 20 cup cars and 31 GT3 cars. Worst case scenario would be 51 cars like to change their driver...result would be 102 clients. the last 2 clients are going towards the Stream (Markus) and the live steward (Simon). Which will result in a total of 104 clients.
e.g. this would only be possible if we were less Teams and have a maximum of 2 or 3 drivers for each Team.

From my point of view i can't stay on the Server 24/7. I don't have the best Hardware anymore and my graphics card is running out of vram very quickly. To reduce lag spikes i am forced to restart my game anyways, so this wouldn't be an option for me.

Quick questuon: For some reason I can't join the practice server. It is saying that I should manually install the mod, any ideas?

 

If you are in the Porsche Cup, you must select the endurance package in tuning to enter. Other than that, you need to have a "Packages" folder in your RF2 install directory to allow the game to download things to your PC.

 

Thx for your quick reply. I am not able to reach the pointof car selection, it gets stuck after I enter the password. Packages folder is there and I can see the Mod file but it is only 14KB big

 

You can find in your Rfactor2 bin32 folder a modmgr.exe there you can find what you need

Btw. what is the reason that umlauts aren't allowed in the name? I never had any issues using my real name with umlauts in the game. Furthermore it's already the year 2020 and UTF-8 should be in use almost everywhere so there shouldn't be any reason to disallow the usage of umlauts. Please don't get me wrong if there is an issue with umlauts I'm totally fine to use 'Robin Mueller' as my name but it's really frustrating if you can't use your real real name just as it contains "special characters".
