Ok. An other try. Did again a new mod. If this fails too i will completely repack the cars tomorrow instead of using updates.

Adam, P1G allows drivers to switch cars in the race!. If it is your team car and if your name is listed in the sister car you can switch to the other car and drive; if let's say sister car needs help or vice versa. From a driver's perspective this can happen between 2 cars only and if that driver is listed in those two entries.
It's not a written rule but most drivers/teams race here know this.

LOL ... for real ? That is some freaky crazy stuff ... You know, its not 1950's anymore :D
So in theory, according to this "rule" ... The SAME GUYS, can score P1 and P2 at the same time. Bravo.

@Adam, I think it is important to know the story and history behind it before making a mockery out of it. It's important to understand 24H Series races were -in essence- "fun races". In 2018 I feel things are getting more serious and I'm sure admins are working on several changes. I took the liberty of explaining something that in a friendly, fun racing environment that was acceptable between teams, didn't want some of the new teams be puzzled and get angry after the race. As we were puzzled last year after 8H of Road America -our first- race, BUT instead of complaining we did go with the flow.

I am happy with what P1G is doing in 24H series and support them fully. If I have an issue with any rules I can raise the question in a proper manner, and only then I know I will get a proper answer or a discussion about it can start. Just because I am entering cars in this race I don't think I am earning any privilege to slam admins or the rules.

But You understand, that this is against all principals of endurnace racing. Its ONE car, for all drivers. When one of them crashes it affects all of them. There are no "second lifes". Its not Mario Bros and its not only about real life. That is the KEY factor in endurance racing that it is in my intrestet to give the SAME car to my team mate in top-notch condition after one or two hour stints that he will have the best possible car for his (stint).

Now as You say, here, You have a situation when after 1,3 or 5 hours of racing, one of Your drivers crashes the car to DNF and then there is order "ok guys, move to the other entry, we can still win this". That is simply wrong.

And again such situation. You have the same team of 5 drivers in "two car entry". Lets say, one of those cars crashes oponent car to DNF . The guy that crashed it goes to second car.
What about the PENALTY ? On what bassis will You give penalty to the second car that was not involved in incident and has no markins on bodywork ? And this is only one of many examples of this "rule" that shows a big HOLE inside of it.
Second I wrote above, that the same team , the same 5 guys can take P1 and P2 ... and even P3 during 5 hour race... that is unfair to start with and such "two car entry" takes place on entry list for someone that wants to race on "normal standard" rules. That is one car = one team.

Why #222 Racing Spirit - GT3 - Ferrari - Gabor Fodor - Hun or #283 West Endurance Masters- GT3 - Ferrari - David Farkas - Hun , can not race ? because someone wants to have "second life" ; Because they are not able to drive 6 hour race without crash. That is unfair, simple as that.

Dont get me wrong, I am not trying to 'destroy and terrorize' the league, but I want to show You that this kind of rule is very very wrong.

You are talking about 24h event ... we are here talking about 6 hour event with 5 driver team.

This rule would be OK if P1 Gamming would have a very very big deficite of entrys for event. Then yes. It can be a solution. But only then. Right now there is reserve list and they should have priority.
To build a league and commiunity You should be "pro user friendly".

This rule was made to always have a big field. I have seen a many races where at the end only 10-12 cars from 60. but we will discuss this for the next races.

That is what I wrote now after edit. That if that rule was made to "made up" more entrys (to fill up the grid) , then YES. that is good way to do it. But if You have "waiting" list - they should have a go.

Maybe they just havent decided yet which driver will drive which car or they want to do it spontanously during the event. I think in Spa a stint in a touring car was about 90 mins. So this would mean only 4 stints in a 6h race. Its easy to do 6h with 5 or even 4 drivers in 2 cars.

As far as this goes, we are running 2 cars and we haven't decided who will be in each car yet. We aren't "taking up spots" from people wanting to race, or inflating the numbers. You're making a mountain out of a molehill.

Think about it that way: you dont need 4 Drivers for a 6h Race, thats true. Now, you have a Team of 4 Drivers that decided to have 2 Cars starting for the 6h Race so everyone gets to race and noone have to sit and wait for some Month untill next endurance Race.

IF you would assign 2 Drivers each car, it would work fine, BUT, if 1 Driver of a Team cant Drive at that day (think about having an accident or your Family makes a Surprise Visit to you) That car couldnt start, because 1 Driver driving 6 Hours, i wouldnt do it. And you couldnt reassign that spot on raceday which would result in 1 Car Missing.

Now, you assign the same 4 Drivers to both of the cars, you can have both cars start whatever happens and you DONT take additional Spots on the list either way ( 2 drivers per car or 4 drivers per car BOTH take 2 Slots, eh? )

May i suggest you just leave and free up a Spot for someone who likes the Rules, Adam?

On a Note: We WOULD change those Rules if starting a League with Prizes, thats a diffrent Story, but, you cant win anything here except "Bragging Rights", so the Fun, Comfort and Stability is our Main concern.

I think we should all hope, that every team and all drivers were responsibly to this theme! Our Rennsimulanten has several teams in entrylist too, with no bad conscience! Most past events we don´t know some weeks before race, if there will be enough cars in race. Now we had an situation we say in German "Luxusproblem". Drivers which are not fast enough with sign up now had an problem and there are drivers in our team too! We all, especially team managers MUST guarantee, that their drivers not only sign up for fun and unsubscribe an car, if it could or would not participate in event, so that drivers in waiting list could join. For me important is the communication between P1 and all of us managers. We should be asked, if our cars all up to date. If their is no answer, they should ask another driver of the team what´s going on and if their is no answer too, we should decide to kick team from event for joining another car from waiting list.

This is very much the reason why there is this flexibility for drivers being able to change cars. And I bet real life N24H race rules are like this also because of same reasons, to keep cars alive and "in race".

Of course in WEC there is no such rule but this series is not mimicking WEC, only 24H Nordschleife, and it is normal league rules be written around this race. Jochen's explanation is spot on, except his suggestion at the end :(. There is nothing wrong in questioning the legitimacy of the rules, but there is right or wrong in how you go about it.
