same here, the only reason i ask is not so i can try and overtake because as you rightly said its risky and stupid but it needs addressing sooner than driver briefing as it will impact setup and strategy options

We'll inform everyone after this weekend because the weekend is packed with work at the 24h Nürburgring race. :)

With the test race on the 19th May do we need to do driver swaps? Just for 2 hours one of my drivers was going to do the whole race. Also can we all be on the server or just one driver from each team for the test race

you do not have to make a driver change. I think I should already take as many drivers as possible. I think it is handled like in Atlanta, is best, if from 50 drivers, the teams but with driver changes work.

The test races are always worth entering, its will be the best gauge of the pace against other cars. It is also good for new drivers to get to grips with how it all works and practice the driver swaps

Where do you mean "up and down the hill"?
The most attacks for position occur into Caltex Chase.

Well the hill is going to be dangerous with cars potentially risking overtaking so i simply want clarification on the ruling. If sector1 was red zone at Road Atlanta then surely a safe zone on the hill somewhere would be sensible.

I didnt say anything about the final chicane, thats perfect for overtaking.

Yes but I am just wanting to know exactly where you mean as a red zone as the whole track is up and down the hill? (Well apart from the pit straight I guess) That is my question.

I have done a few races on this track and in my experience it is all but impossible or fully impossible within one class to overtake between the cutting (T3) and Forest Elbow (the left hander onto Conrod), so the trip over the top of the mountain. Unless the driver in front makes a BIG error there is nowhere to pass. So racing tends to be positioning yourself for an attack on Conrod into Caltex Chase.
Saying that however is not me saying that I agree to a concept of a no passing zone, It just happens anyway. IMO Anyone wanting to survive 12 hours wouldn't be sane to try.

I personally think that we need a red zone. Not for in class racing (as you said everyone with common sense should know not to overtake unless the driver in front fucks up), but the GT3 and TRG lappings. As a Touring driver I'd be really glad to have clarity on where I don't have to fear someone squeezing in, because he thinks he's much faster, while the actual difference over the hill is very little.

From my point of view , this are possible overtakes in Sector 2(marked in the image above). These overtake spots I marked are only for overtaking between different Car classes like (GT3 and TRG). It's too dangerous overtaking there between the same car classes and is mostly going into a crash.

I drove Bathurst many times with different classes on track and i never had a crash on these spots i marked.

Try it out at May 19th 2018 (TESTRACE) !!!

    Greetings Mario

As you said, overtaking is possible on the hill but its high risk unless drivers are respectful and not aggressive and weaving. I think what people need to remember is if you overtake on the hill you are putting both cars at risk and know body wants to retire mid race because they couldn't give in.

Information about Redzone, overtaking and pit exit procedures:

    Redzone:

P1-Gaming Staff has set a Redzone for the 12h Bathurst race. Here you can see where the Redzone is:

    Explanation:

The Redzone begins after Turn 4 and ends on the Apex of Turn 18. In the redzone Drivers are allowed to overtake with extreme care. P1-Gaming Staff advises drivers not to overtake in the redzone if the driver in front does not clearly lets you pass.
Drivers of all classes are responsible for a safe drive through the redzone. Reported collisions, weaving or other forms of blocking as well as other dangerous manouvers like divebombs in this zone will be punished harder. Respectful driving is mandatory.
If you clearly are slower than the driver behind you, you should give the driver behind some space to overtake as soon as possible. This stands also for the TRG cars.

    Overtaking:

Overtakes are allowed everywhere. Even in the redzone (with extreme care).

Cars that are being overtaken by a car of the same class need to give the overtaking car space as soon as there is any overlap at the point of turn in.

Cars that are being overtaken by a car of a higher class need to give the overtaking car space as soon as there is any overlap at least 100m before the point of turn in.

We advice TRG drivers to stay on their respective racing line. If you want to let someone pass you are free to do so in a safe spot. Please be careful with line changes.

    Pit exit procedures:

The pitlane ends at the traffic light. You are free to disengage the limiter at the traffic light. Drivers rejoining the racetrack must stay to the left side of the track at all times there are cars approaching from turn 1.

@Simon Christmann @Ricardo Edelmann unfortunately we will have to remove the #84 SpeedyMite Racing Porsche from the entry list. #85 will still be in the race and we will definitely be back for the next event.

    Cheers.
